Are you looking for something to do in the spring? You may want to take a little trip down to Piedmont Park in Atlanta for a fun weekend at the Annual Dogwood Festival. There are a ton of activities to take part in, such as the Dogwood 5K, local vendor shopping, featured art, live music, and more!
This year just happens to be the festival’s 80th anniversary, as the very first one was in 1936, complete with pageants and parades in the city. Since then, people from all over the Southeast have traveled to Atlanta every spring for this lovely event featuring of the most beautiful flowers in season.
With fun attractions for the whole family, as well as delicious food and drinks, this festival is a ton of fun. They also celebrate international culture, with performances from children and adults with genres including dance, singing, martial arts, drumming and more. Definitely a must see!
Getting to the festival is extra easy. You can either hop on Marta (Atlanta’s public transportation forum) or take your own vehicle down and park at a reserved parking spot you can purchase on the website. However, the festival encourages people to take public transportation if at all possible.
